On the south coast of Brittany lies Morbihan - with over 800km of fine sandy beaches, rugged coastline, rivers and estuaries. The well-preserved medieval centre of Vannes has great appeal with its half-timbered houses, shops & bars and creperies. Not far from Vannes are the prehistoric megaliths that rise from the sea & fields in Carnac and the Golfe du Morbihan. From here you can take a boat to Belle-Ile-en-Mer for walks along the Cote Sauvage with its panoramic views. Surfers, climbers, divers and fishermen are also drawn to the clear waters & natural beauty of this coast, known for its oyster production.
